The Exposure OLAS Guardian Wireless Engine Kill Switch The OLAS Guardian is a wireless engine kill switch that acts within two seconds of a person falling overboard. It has the dual function of also acting as an instant, Man Overboard Alarm system. The Guardian simply connects with up to 25 OLAS transmitters and can cover a vessel up to 50ft. In The Box: Guardian, OLAS Tag + Battery, Power Connection wires, Kill cord connection wires, Stainless steel switch, User Guide, 5 x marine connectors. What it does: OLAS Guardian means power boat and RIB drivers are assured that their boat will stop in an instant, should the skipper or crew get separated from the boat, reducing the chances of a serious accident from a loose, unmanned, uncontrolled powerboat. They are free to move around their boat without constantly having to remember to attach, detach and re-attach a physical wired kill cord. Customisable Tag Modes for Flexibility The OLAS Guardian offers three user-selectable tag modes, allowing you to tailor the device to your specific needs. You can switch between modes effortlessly using the OLAS mobile app. Here's a breakdown of the tag modes: Default Mode: Ideal for larger motor vessels and sailing vessels, this mode triggers alerts for the remaining crew while cutting off the engine simultaneously. It ensures that everyone is notified and that the vessel is under control.Crew Tag Mode: Recommended for crew and passengers on both motor and sail vessels, this mode alerts the remaining crew without cutting off the engine. It allows for immediate rescue operations.Helm Tag Mode: Specifically designed for sub 35ft motor vessels, this mode acts as a kill cord, stopping the vessel when the tag goes beyond a customizable distance from the hub. This mode allows the user to leave and return to the vessel without setting off the alarm. It doesn't trigger MOB alerts and should not be used as a MOB alarm system. What It Does? Track with the OLAS mobile application Within 8 seconds of a man overboard incident occurring, the OLAS mobile application technology detects a break in its ‘virtual tether’ to the tag. The mobile phone(s) then sound a loud alarm, alerting crew to the fact someone is overboard. OLAS then helps the crew with the MOB recovery, clearly directing them to the GPS location where the MOB occurred with clear visual signals and bearing data. OLAS stores all location data and time of incident required by the rescue services. Track with the OLAS Guardian and Core (Vessels up to 50ft) Connect up to 15 OLAS transmitters (OLAS tag or OLAS Float-On) to any OLAS receiver. Within 2 seconds of the connection breaking the MOB alert will activate alerting crew to the incident. Up to 25 OLAS transmitting devices (OLAS tag/OLAS Float-On) within range can be tracked around the vessel by the Guardian. This allows freedom for the crew and skipper to move around the vessel with confidence that if anyone falls overboard either the engine will be cut-off and / or an alarm will occur, and a swift recovery can be actioned. The Guardian connects to a vessels 12/24v power supply and existing kill switch using the supplied connectors making it quick and easy to install with immediate usability. A 21mm hole is required near to the existing kill switch for the 20mm stainless steel, LED control switch to be installed. Professional installation is not required but is advised as Ultimate Sports Engineering does not accept any liability for incorrect installation.
